The Raymond J. Lepeed ton sidecasting distructed for the Army Engineers was commissioned at Newport Ship Yard in ceremonies Saturday. Built at a cost of $1 million the vessel is a major conversion project in the firm’s 138 year history. It accommodates 10 crew and features a remote controlled electro hydraulic crane for harbor river and inlet cleaning and operation in northern waters. Behan Dies at 75 After Newport Board Service
James K. Behan 75 longtime Newport resident and board member of Hazard's Beach died unexpectedly at Newport Hospital. He served on the Housing Authority Board of Tenant Affairs and Newport Sewer Commission and held roles with Carpenters Local 176 and Shamrock Cliff Hotel. He served in World War I and was involved in local civic groups. He is survived by his wife Margaret and two sons James K. Behan and Michael J. Behan, with funeral arrangements announced.

William Heins Dies At Age 82 In New Jersey Home
William Heins 82 of 229 Walent Ave Middletown died this spring after a short illness. A rug installer most of his life he moved to this area on retirement from New Jersey work. Born in Germany September 16 1883 he came to the U S sixty years ago. Survived by wife Gertrude and six children, siblings and many grandchildren. Service Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home with burial at Aquidneck Memorial Park. Also memorial notices for Antone Junior and James Lawrence.

Frank Adler 75 of Philadelphia a former Newport resident and brother of Mrs Mary Dannin Newport died May 2 at his Philadelphia home. He worked 45 years as a sheet metal worker at the Philadelphia Navy Yard retiring in 1962. Burial was at Roosevelt Cemetery Philadelphia. He was born Milwaukee Sept 15 1896. He leaves a wife two daughters and many relatives including a Newport sister and a son of Pelee.
