Miss Elizabeth Grubbs and Mr Thad Allen wed quietly Tuesday morning at the residence of W W McMinn in Newport. Rev J W Smith officiated, guests offered congratulations, and the couple left for a short honeymoon to Hot Springs before returning to Hazel Street home.

The third annual Mammoth Spring Chautauqua Assembly opened with Hon. W. J. Bryan delivering a two hour lecture A Conquering Nation. About 2000 heard the address. The program included scenes from Queen Esther a concert and further talks by Col L F Copeland Dr P D John and John Roach Stratton with Lucey scheduled for the evening. The event shown signs of great success this year.
