Hot Springs reports Sir Robert Sanborn tried for obtaining 1200 dollars from Arlington Hotel Company under false pretenses. A hung jury with ten for acquittal followed his self styled English lord persona. He was arrested in Boston after a chase, indicted, released on bond, and later linked to a patent office scheme.
A special St Louis railway train with Cape Girardeau and Poplar Bluff cars visited the city for a noon reception. The party led by Newman Erb and F E B Blomeyer inspected the southern division then planned a return to Luxora and St Louis with a new service only after a permanent bridge over Current River is completed.

Embroidery Club hosted a “A Literary Courtship” contest with Mrs. Gussie May Fitts prize winner. Mrs. Wm. Bailey hosted an informal reception for Newport sisters and Mississippi visitors.
