Springfield June 12 The Newell Bros Manufacturing Co Boston Button Co and Williston Knight Co consolidate to form the United Button Company Corporation with 3 000 000 capital. Main offices will be in New York. Representatives met here to finalize arrangements.
Superintendent Charles E. Gibbs confirms new owners will assume control in a few days. Road will extend east from Des Arc to connect with the Choctaw and west from Searcy to link with the Frisco. Gibbs declines to name the buyers.
The firm P. Huffman & Son Bakers and Confectioners dissolves its partnership. Tra P Huffman will continue the business under new ownership and thanks patrons for past favors while inviting continued support.
Mrs Gustave Jones entertained the Clover Club Thursday afternoon in her usual happy manner with most members present. Refreshments were dainty and well served. The only invited guest was Mrs G A Hillhouse.
In Forrest City on June 12 Cotton Plant defeated Forrest City 4 to 3 in ten innings. Battery Cotton Plant Cook and Rutell faced Forrest City Suttfan and Murtley.
Miss Birdie May Holloway of Searcy wed Mr William A. Mitchell of Little Rock in a floral decorated ceremony at the bride’s home. Guests included prominent locals and out-of-town guests. couple to honeymoon via Southwest connections. A Hazel Hotel dance drew the Upper Ten crowd with many names listed.
