Officer in Quartermaster's Department Reported Slain
Special to Independent. Little Rock June 7. Among those reported as recently slain in action in France is Col. Bertrand L. Clayton. He was a personal friend of Major Henry Fredeman, assistant adjutant general, who served with him at Galveston several years ago. He was an officer in the Quartermaster's Department, proving that that branch of the service is as hazardous as any other.
