Assessor of Jackson County issues a public notice in the Meya Daily Ludependent. The brief item references property assessment actions and qualifies as an official county notice for local residents.
The piece critiques Rev. L B Richardson for arguing there are two universal baptism modes. It questions biblical support for modes and essentiality, contrasts sprinking and dipping, and surveys Presbyterian and Pedobaptist views with references to John the Baptist immersion and baptismal symbolism.

Sheriff R W Bandy and Deputy Lockhard Bandy raided the Pacific Express Company office on a Monday afternoon at about eight o clock and confiscated fourteen full cases of bottled beer. The cargo, shipped from Memphis and consigned to 8 Field, is believed to be for a fictitious recipient and may be intended for the Temperance Saloon once run by Robt Simmons, now reopened. The search extended to Robt Simmons home vicinity without locating any liquor.
The Searchlight Publishing Company owners E A Tabor W J Moore and Frank Barrett dissolve the firm. E A Tabor will continue the business and assume all liabilities.
Chief Engineer Lee will oversee extending the St Louis and North Arkansas line from Harrison to the new Everton town within ten days for freight operations. Congressman Brundidge introduces H. BR. 14780 authorizing Newport Bridge and Terminal Railway to build a White River bridge in Arkansas, referral to interstate and foreign commerce committee.
A Tuesday morning blaze in Newark on the White River branch of the Iron Mountain Railroad destroyed three brick stores owned by Magness Howards and J M Martin Co. with about 25000 in losses, 15000 insured. Firefighting relied on buckets as the town has no fire company. An incendiary origin is suspected though unproven. Nearby stock losses ranged from 4000 to 8000 with full insurance coverage.
