Mrs. W M Clemenson of Concord Washington visited Newberg with her husband’s parents and sister in law. They spent time at the fair. Fruit from Bonny View farm and Miles orchard is shown at the county exhibit, with Crawford peaches nearly a foot in circumference.

General Crop Summary Shows Mixed Yields Across Oregon
No heavy rain last week statewide with late crops needing moisture except corn and hops. Frost touched Southern Oregon bottom lands with no damage. thrashing nearly finished in Western Oregon while continuing in the east under favorable conditions. Wheat and barley yields strong in Columbia and Grand Ronde Valleys but below average in Willamette Valley and Southern Oregon. Hops advancing well, corn promising a large crop, onions pulled, late potatoes and gardens poor from lack of rain. Pears and prunes now being harvested. apples small but an average crop expected. stock fair, dairy cattle losing flesh and milk supply declines.

Royal Hawaiian Band Extends Port land Engagement
The Royal Hawaiian Band, fresh from Honolulu for the Lewis and Clark exposition, has drawn huge crowds in Portland. The group, a two weeks' engagement, is extended for two more weeks due to its popularity. Thousands gather at the bandstand as the musicians sing, with Kanaka ballads and a Hawaiian girl as soloist. The band performs several times daily.
