Death of Lovell W. Houghton in Newberg
Funeral services for Lovell W. Houghton were held at 10:30 Monday in the Presbyterian Church with about forty Odd Fellows in uniform. Born in New York 62 years ago he never married and is survived by his mother and sister Mrs Clark. He lived in Minnesota Dakota and Newberg where he died last Saturday evening. He joined Westminster Congregational Church in Spokane around 1900.

Iowa and Day Picnic Brings Wide Attendance
A large crowd from Iowa gathered for the Iowa and Missouri Day picnic with Mr William Clemmens as chairman. Ice cream donated by Mr Campbell delighted about one hundred attendees. Mrs Kienle organized the tables and was chosen to chair next year. The afternoon program featured Mrs Zumwalt singing, B L Hicks recalling boyhood days, Father Hoberg speaking, and Mr Hoover reciting a humorous poem Show Me. Officers were elected: President William Clemmens, Vice President B L Hicks, Secretary Mrs W W Melson.
