The 29th annual Yamhill County Sunday School Convention convened in Amity Oregon November 23 24 with seventy eight in attendance. Delegates registered totaled 165 and officers for the coming year were named including L S Hopfield as president and C M Smith as secretary treasurer. The gathering praised speakers like Rev C A Phipps and Mrs J W Wilkins and urged standards for Sunday schools and Opposition to alcohol and corrupt politics.

MISS REUTER'S RECITAL OPENS SERIES OF PUPIL PERFORMANCES

Injunction suit in McMinnville set for decision next Thursday
Judge Wm Galloway heard the Tuesday argument over the Sunday closing contention. City attorneys R L Conner and Wm M Ramsey urged the ordinance while Chapin spoke for opponents. The judge said a prompt ruling would favor the city but postponed ruling to Thursday of next week after further argument in the similar case.

Social success of Pacific College auxiliary evening
About 250 guests attended the Pacific College Woman's Auxiliary social last Saturday night in the former chapel room. Oregon hens set U S egg-laying record at 259
Two hens at the Oregon Agricultural College experiment station tied for the national championship by laying 259 eggs in a year. One is a Plymouth Rock. the other a Plymouth Rock Leghorn cross. The Plymouth Rock laid 27 eggs in October. The cross was steadier, with monthly output mostly above 20 eggs except March.

Keeping Up His Reputation Horace Bashaw in Assault on Wife
Horace Bashaw of 155% East Ninth Street attempted to end a discussion with his wife by pretending to drink carbolic acid. Mrs Bashaw, screaming, knocked the bottle away and suffered hysterics lasting into the night.
