Death of a Pioneer William J. Jones

William J. Jones born May 13 1838 died May 18 1908 at seventy five after pneumonia on Chehalem mountain. He settled in Chehalem valley Oregon in 1847 with his parents and raised a large family near Newberg. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church led by Rev. Geo Ritchey and he was mourned by neighbors who knew his genial disposition.
