Florence Gertrude Herriot, daughter of Geo H and Gertrude F Herriot, born August 27 1896 in Maustan Wisconsin. She moved to Oregon in 1904 and suffered heart trouble after childhood rheumatic fever. She joined the M E church four years ago under Rev Gould and was active in Sabbath school. She died March 24 at the M E church and was laid to rest March 26 at 2 p m, aged 13 years 6 months 25 days.
A farewell reception for Mrs Peter Bashaw was given Friday evening by W R C members in a surprise party. Refreshments followed as Mrs Clara Patterson presented an agate brooch, delighting the honoree. The Bashaws plan to move to Portland soon.
Grace L Stone and Ernest M Stone united in marriage at the brides parents home on Chehalem mountain. Officiant F C Stannard. The couple, formerly of Newberg, left for Portland where a new home awaits. Mr Stone works with his father in manufacturing and selling the Vetch Separator, their invention.
Citizens of Albany Oregon are urged to attend an Albany Commercial Club conven tion on April 14 1910 at 2 30 p m in the Albani rooms to press Willamette locks funding river improvements and a separate steam boat line from Port to South.
The W C T U executive committee of Yamhill county met in Newberg for an instructional session with questions answered and plans laid for the year. A Temperance Institute is planned for Dayton in May. The Newberg Union met with twelve members and three visitors as Miss Michen urged greater works to unite the anti liquor forces and rouse public sentiment.
