Child Burned to Death in Oregon Electric District
A 3 month old child of Mr and Mrs George Crawl of Donald Oregon was burned to death in a house fire on Monday afternoon between 4 and 5 o clock. A 2 year old sibling alone at home escaped. The fire, started by the older child playing with matches, partly destroyed the Crawl home while the father was away at work.

Long Trip To Save Life In Alaska
Dr J B Beeson traveled 512 miles by train sleigh and dog team to reach Claude Baker in Idi tarod Alaska. The relay involved multiple mushers doughboys and sled teams with rapid handoffs amid extreme cold. Baker began recovering after Beeson arrived and medical care was provided in time.

A grueling 139 hour journey covered 512 miles from Nenana to Iditarod with 11 to 13 dog teams. Mushers Beeson Burke Shannon Indian Paul and Charles Brink pushed through 40 below zero conditions from Gibbon to Ophir and Shermans before reaching Claude Baker. Northern Commercial Company headquarters supported the expedition.

Friendly visits strengthen Pacific College bonds in Oregon
Pacific College in Newberg and Portland hosted social events organized by the Portland Woman's Auxiliary and Newbery Auxiliary. About 300 attendees enjoyed chapel, class visits, a domestic science luncheon, and a basketball game between the Friendly Fellows and the college second team followed by a large reception with songs and refreshments.

Seventy Fifth Birthday of Mrs M J Nash Celebrated
Friday last week marked the seventy fifth anniversary of Mrs M J Nash.
