Newberg High School Ends 1910 Commencement
Fifteen students graduate at the Friends church in Newberg with speeches on education, citizenship, and character. Alberta Anderson, Minnie Bancroft, Eula Cord, Elva Cory, DeVere Fendall, Ruth Gilbert, Beulah Newlin, Erwin Pease, Nell Reuter, Ethel Ross, Vera Stannard, Myrtle Walton, Ray Weatherhead, Ernest Thun, and Sylvan Strait receive diplomas as the program features music and remarks by J. High School Seniors Present 1910 Class Day Show
The 1910 High School seniors entertained a large audience with original and revived numbers on class day. Highlights included Miss Alberta's Gypsy style class prophecy, Sylvan Strait's illustrated talk on love beetles, a candle drill by the girls, and a lively performance of The Heavenly Twins. The program also featured Erwin Pease’s class history Vera Stannard’s class will and the closing class songs, with music from the High School orchestra.
