Mary J. Kennedy of Armour & Co. praises Peruna as a permanent cure for summer catarrh caused by chronic catarrh stomach derangements and impure blood. The testimonial notes eight years of travel disrupted digestion, three months on Peruna restored health, with free sample offers from the Peruana Medicine Co. Columbus Ohio.
James Duckworth, early locator of the E. and E. mine, urges new prospecting ideas. He reports Ben Yeager and Montana miners at a 200 foot ledge on the Sump ter Granite road showing bluish quartz that pans gold. Assays run from 35 to 14 dollars with a two mile spread. A 25 foot shaft is being sunk and a cross cut planned to test down dip. If promising, a 300 to 400 foot shaft and milling facilities will follow.

Water shortages slow the Lucky Boy mill while new mills rise at Blue River townsite.
Bradstreet's notes mid-summer trade tone improving though demand lags. Wheat shipments total 2,829,910 bushels for the week with a near record corn yield and high oats, while Southern cotton suffers but acreage remains large and prices rise. Industrial prices face slashing quotations despite wage accords in iron and steel. Building activity rises on lower lumber costs, but labor effects are unclear. US and Canadian business failures rise. 221 in the US and 22 in Canada. A Rhine German incident reports 90 people seriously ill from diseased horse flesh eaten.
A market listing from Pacific Coast Trade Seattle provides fresh onions at 1 cent, hot house lettuce at 1 per crate, new potatoes at 1 cent, beets and turnips per sack, cucumbers and cabbage priced per 100 pounds range, and tomatoes at 1.25. Butter eggs cheese poultry and meat prices are given with several regional variations plus hay and flour items and millstuff rates for cattle feed.

The notes describe hunger types by Drs. Mathieu and Beauchant with painfulhunger and agonizing hunger, their symptoms, and relief by alkali. Also mentions Menlo Park school in California, bean seed crops, mercury dangers, Hall's Catarrh Cure, and various medical and gardening tidbits.
