Kinney fined for Local Option Law violation in Yamhill County

In Judge Linnville's court Ed Kinney received 250 dollars fine on each of two counts totaling 500 dollars and twenty days in jail for delivering liquor across the river in Yamhill County. This the first test of the new law, with Kinney previously warned by City Marshal Clemmens and later arrested after a detective probe. The verdicts were delivered quickly by two juries amid a large audience at Duncan's hall. Kinney was jailed in Newberg and later transferred to McMinnville for confinement.
