Celebration a Success at Wood Park Event
A well attended Wood celebration featured a J C Hodson address and a full afternoon program at ball park with children races and a Fernwood versus Portland Brooklyn Grays baseball game won by the Grays. An one armed Grays player received an ovation for his batting and fielding. Jock Ellis rode the bucking broncho to close.

A SANE FOURTH NEIGHBORHOOD PICNIC WEST OF NEWBERG
Neighbors of Mr. and Mrs. John Wenger held a social Fourth gathering at their home west of Newberg. Families arrived with baskets, fires crackers sounded, and the event featured a long table in the grove and a lively, orderly celebration. Attendees included Mr. and Mrs. Wenger and numerous local couples. The Baptist church women announced an ice cream and cake sale for Saturday July 13 starting at 2 PM in Hollingsworth Building at the First and Blaine corner.

The wedding of Mabel Paulsen to Alfred Dixon of Portland took place Wednesday afternoon at the Paulsen home. The ceremony featured floral decor, voice and piano music, a Lord s prayer and a ring service by Rev. Charles C. Whitely. The couple left for Portland to begin their new life, with Dixon employed at Marshall Wells Hardware Co. of Portland. Attending guests included family and friends from Portland Corvallis Seattle and Newberg.
