Pioneer statesman C. H. Burch dies near Amity Oregon
Hon. C. H. Burch of Yamhill County dies at his Amity area home from rheumatism of the heart. Born in 1828 in Missouri he crossed the plains in 1844 with Col Ford's company, served in the Mexican War, joined the California gold rush, and later served in the Oregon legislature in 1878 and as state senator in 1884. He leaves a wife and nine children among surviving relatives. obituaries list several surviving kin.
