Oratorical contest at Friends church draws large crowd
A large audience attended the Friday evening event at the Friends church for an oratorical battle. Judges evaluated composition and delivery. Clem Niswonger was out sick, while Aubrey Kramien led in delivery with a strong fiery voice and a five point lead. Nonconformist Elder Secrist addressed Brethren church members, urging Bible guidance and opposition to secret oaths. Council proceedings opened with new members and routine bills, including a disputed 1901 tax bill and mercy considerations for Mrs. Cow.
