Jesse Barham of Barham Bros. won a divorce from Ethel Gwinn Barham in Dallas on December 16 on grounds of desertion. The wife filed the suit amid sensational testimony. Barham received one third of the substantial property including Newberg holdings and custody of the 6 year old son, while the 3 year old daughter stayed with the mother with a $10 monthly allowance. Attorneys were Oscar Hayter for Mrs Barham and B A Kirks for the husband. The Barhams were well known Dallas residents with ties to the First National Bank project and long residence in the city.

Judith Hampton Lyndon and Elsie Mae Gordon perform with natural flair, drawing hearty, amused response from audiences. Benjamin F Higgins born February 14 1837 died December 21 1916 at age 72 after cancer of the esophagus. He served in the 12th Michigan Infantry, was captured at Shiloh, later exchanged and discharged. Survived by ten children, funeral by the G A R, interred beside his daughter in the Odd Fellows cemetery in Tillamook.
