Mr and Mrs Clarence Kienle have returned to Newberg after extensive work training in piano and automatic instrument tuning. He studied tuning at Polk's Tuning School in Valparaiso Indiana five months with Wegman Piano in Auburn New York and player piano manufacturing in Syracuse. He then worked about a year with Rudolph Wurlitzer Company in Chicago tuning repairing and assembling automatic instruments. He declined an assistant manager post to return to the coast and remain in Newberg.

Dr. O P S Plummer, aged 77, died at his Hillsdale home after a long life in Portland areas. Born in Mercer County Pennsylvania, he worked as telegraph operator, helped establish Portland’s first telegraph office in 1864, later became a physician and drug business dean, helped found the Oregon State Medical Society, and served on Portland City Council and in the Legislature.

Hutchens trial ends with not guilty verdict
The Hutchens murder trial concluded with a not guilty verdict for James F. Hutchens of Peavine, who was charged with first degree murder for Walter A. Rogers death on August 2, 1813, while also wounding Frank Wilber. Judge fined L. J. Hodge $100 and 30 days in jail for contempt after he failed to appear. Hodge was located near Cottage Grove and brought to Mc Minnville. Divorce decree granted to H. D. Bond from Mary B. Bond for desertion.
