P C Grad Weds In Rex On Thanksgiving Week

The wedding of Ruth, daughter of Mr and Mrs N L Wiley of Rex, to Abram Astleford of San Francisco took place last Thursday November 25 at high noon at the Wiley home. Ruth, a Pacific College graduate of 1907 and nurse, and Abram, a San Francisco wholesale receiving clerk, were joined in marriage with many Rex and Newberg guests present. They will reside at 484 Guerrero street in San Francisco.

Engagement Announced at Delicate Salem Party

Marriage of Miss Bessie Warner to Clinton Bates

On Thanksgiving day at the Warner residence near Newberg Miss Bessie Warner wed Clinton Bates of Marion county. The ceremony conducted by Rev. Reuter followed Methodist Episcopal rites with Wagner’s Lohengrin as Nell Reuter played. The couple will reside in Marion county.

Early Oregon settler widow buried near Dayton

Willamette Valley settler who arrived in autumn 1845 and settled near Dayton married Guilford Worden in 1851. Four of their five children survive. After Worden’s 1865 death she wed Rev. J. E. Parrott, who died in 1872, then married Reuben Pettyjohn in 1873. Survivors include Mary Hurley Harriet Wrage Guilford Worden and Gordon Worden. funeral held at her residence, burial in the family cemetery near Dayton.

Forest Grove Commercial Club sent eight members to Portland to inspect the system and plan a large commercial plant. Portland Man Fined Over Free Cigarette Distribution

J A Neidis traveling for The John Bollman Co. was brought before Judge Brouillette on a charge of giving away cigarettes in Newberg. An appeal to the Circuit Court was announced by Neidis who stated the company would fight if costs reached ten thousand dollars. Bond set at 150 dollars, signed by R B Jacks and J M Rittenhouse.

Notice to Owners of Stock at Large in Oregon

Notice of a 1910 election result in Yamhill County Oregon banning stock at large. Penalties of ten dollars for first offense and twenty dollars for subsequent offenses become civilly recoverable by the state and paid to the county Common School fund. The law takes effect sixty days after the notice dated November 17 1910 issued by County Clerk G W Jones in McMinnville.
