Reports from Nogales Arizona describe rapid troop movements from Chihuahua and Durango toward the Yaqui conflict scene. Gatling guns and artillery are en route, with Yaqui leaders reportedly urging workers to flee mining camps and haciendas. Fears of a raid on Nogales rise, prompting Mayor Overton to request cavalry protection from the war department.
Washington reports 844 enlistments yesterday totaling 9 068. Colonel Bell's Twenty seventh at Camp Meade now above its quota. New York notes the transport McCellan arrived from Porto Rico and Cuba with 84 cabin and 65 steerage passengers including discharged soldiers.

Officials report no new cases or fatalities and no further contagion since yesterday. A former inmate, William Thomas, believed to have brought yellow fever from Santiago, is traced to Phoebus and Columbus City after leaving the soldiers' home.
Washington reports a new tuberculosis treatment from France via U S Commercial Agent Atwood. The therapy injects essence of eucalyptus thyme and cinnamon in olive oil into bronchial tubes, easing cough sleep appetite and strength in 16 cases. Also notes a farmer's suicide by dynamite in Wisconsin and other European and U S dispatches from Berlin New York Leavenworth and other cities.
In Cleveland on Aug 6 several troop units withdrew and a dynamite blast struck a Janning Avenue streetcar carrying six passengers. The explosion damaged a wheel flange and splintered the running board but caused no injuries as the car continued to its end.
A August storm devastated Carrabelle McIntyre and Lanark Inn south of River Junction Florida destroying most buildings 200 families left homeless and many injured or killed. Dozens of ships wrecked at Dog Island cove and in the gulf with several vessels split or sunk. A mass meeting vowed aid totaling over one million dollars with several dozen destitute sailors cared for. The Crescent City steamer later reported safe upriver despite prior loss rumors.
A Chicago dispatch reports the Yaqui insurrection growing, with Indians along the Mayo river rising and joining forces. Noted figures Jack Rameey and photographer K. E. Miller were killed near Alamos. the Romero family were captured and killed while boarding a sloop. Telegraph lines down and casualties listed after General Torres' forces reach Bacum.
Chicago reports from Manila describe continued American defense and prep for a new campaign after the rainy season. Troops hold Imus and Paranaque area, with San Fernando rail line contested and Baliuag under threat as brigades block rebel push and seize supply routes.
Paris Times correspondent cites a sudden motive for M Del Casee’s mission to Darmstadt. Emperor Nicholas, weary of the throne and fearing no heir, reportedly aligns with a Russian legend of a czar’s successor, prompting Del Casee’s urgent intervention before a Hague conference failure and a travel emergency. In Naples the Olympia greeted by salutes as Dewey aboard arrives. In Indiana a freight engine boiler explosion injures three aboard near Winsman, with one feared dead.
Bridgeport News reports a shelton street railway accident on the Stratford extension near Oronoque where a loaded trolley car plunged 40 feet into Peck's millpond. Nearly 40 killed and many injured with 23 bodies laid out at Stratford town hall morgue awaiting ID. few escaped.
A collapsed gangplank at Bar Harbor Maine on the Mount Desert ferry Sappho caused a panic as about 200 excursionists crowded the plank. Seventeen died with many more missing or drowning, while rescue efforts faced strong tides and chaotic crowds.
A Terrasas dispatch from Terrasas Chi huahua says Yaqui Indians near the Yaqui valley are gearing for a long conflict. They are financially solid after the 200 head payments from peace, stockpiling arms and ammunition for a sustained campaign to reclaim lost lands. Miners and ranchers near Cocorit have been killed and property destroyed. Reports also mention Spain ally Hereauz and the slain president Ciudad de Mexico context.
