Double wedding at the home of the officiant in Grantory

Recital at the College in Wood-Mar Hall on Thursday
The Pacific College music department announces a recital in Wood-Mar hall next Thursday evening April 7 at 7 45. There is no admission fee and the public is welcome. The program will feature Miss Mabel Patrick on piano Mr Roy Lyle on violin and Miss Blythe Owen on piano. An April 28 concert by the college orchestra and glee club is planned with a novel program to be announced later.

W. C. T. U. Meeting Recaps March Session
The W C T U met at Mrs. Bassett home on March 25. Myrtle Hollingsworth named medal contest superintendent and to organize a matrons contest. A delegation was chosen to attend the prohibition convention at McMinnville on April 22. Campaign pledges were signed and songs sung. Mrs. Lottie Hannon shared experiences canvassing for Oregon dry. Seven new members joined. Essays on tobacco and liquor from grades three through eight were ready for judging. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Chapin and Mrs. Baker. All supporters are invited.

Obituary of Andrew Ornduff Pioneer of Chehalem Mountain
Andrew Ornduff born December 19 1835 in Coles County Illinois moved with his parents to Jefferson County Iowa in 1847. He married Sarah Carr July 19 1849. The couple moved to Oregon in 1862 and settled on a Chehalem Mountain farm in 1872. Mrs Ornduff died in 1907 and he passed away last Monday with funeral held as noted previously.

County School Work Energizes Springbrook Rally
One hundred forty six people attended the Springbrook rally on March 25. Prof. Dodson and Prof. Schaffer from out of state along with Mrs. Tate and Prof. Larsen from the Agricultural College spoke on industrial clubs seeds rural education and Readjustment. Sixteen clubs formed and more are planned as the county fair board offers prizes for five projects including corn and potato growing manual training and baking.
