Mysterious Express Messenger Slain on Santa Fe Train
A. D. Bailey, Wells Fargo express messenger, was murdered while asleep on Santa Fe train No. 115 between Florence and Newton Kansas. Robbers ransacked the car, stealing about 19000 to 1000 in money and jewelry. Bailey’s body was found in a pool of blood with his skull crushed and jaw broken.
