The funeral for Mrs. Jessie May Mason wife of George H Mason of Wheeling West Virginia and daughter of George and Mary A Ryder of 279 South Sixth Street took place this afternoon. She died last Monday from blood poisoning aged 26. The Rev W R Nett led services at DeGrott Methodist Church where she was active as a worker. Interment was at Fairmount Cemetery. The church was crowded with friends and pallbearers listed as Charles Wonfor Barton Freeman William Volker Orville Van Brunt Merman Mason and William Bowles.

Dose of Opium Cause of Death in Brooklyn
Albert Brundine aged 50 of 67 Bankstreet died at St Barnabas Hospital from opium poisoning taken allegedly to relieve pain. He worked at the Harri son pump works and was found unconscious at his boarding house Tuesday night. Dr B W Sprague treated him but he died about 4 this morning. County Physician Illett said the opium was bought in pill form from a local pharmacy and the overdose likely caused the death. Brundine's body was taken to Holle's morgue and a brother in Brooklyn was notified.

Five Skaters Die in Ice Break at Jimtown Reservoir
At Jimtown reservoir six skaters formed a party and five, including 17 year old Elizabeth Fulner, drowned when the ice broke. Survivors formed a human chain to reach the center, but as help neared another collapse sent four more into the water.
