Early Pioneer Mrs Lucilia A George Passes Away
Mrs. Lucilia A George died at her home on South Washington Street after a brief illness due to partial paralysis following a nervous breakdown. Born May 19 1838 in Bradford County Pennsylvania she arrived in Brown County as an early settler around 1855. She was married to Almund Loomis in 1857 and later to Capt 8 A George in 1865. Survived by Mia Koud of Mo and seven grandchildren from her first marriage and sister Mrs Esther Behnke brother Frank Tuttle. Funeral held from her home with Rev A E Norman officiating and a mixed quartet singing at City Cemetery.

Charles Silverson longtime New Ulm businessman and former mayor, died September 21 after a prolonged illness culminating in a stomach hemorrhage. Born in Baden Germany, he rose to prominence in Cincinnati and New Ulm civic life, leading Eagle Roller Mill Co and serving on the city council and school board. He traveled extensively, was married to Katharin Taney of St. Paul, and was remembered as a genial, knowledgeable pioneer.

Pioneer miller Silverson dies after long public service
John Silverson built and led a major milling enterprise in Minnesota after starting in bakery work. He bought the Ole Roller Mill in 1886 and expanded capacity to 350 barrels, making it among the state’s top mills with 5000 barrels capacity. He guided Eagle Mill and became a leading figure in the industry, enduring illness but remaining active in public life until his death. Surviving relatives included wife, three-year-old son Charles, two daughters, brother William, and sisters Mrs. Fred Sommer and Miss Barbary Schubsch. Funeral services were held. Knights Templar and Blue Lodge attended. many businesses closed in his honor.
