Auto Burns On Rural Road Tilline Car Destroyed
A new Hudson Six owned by Fred C. Koehne of Sleepy Eye burned entirely after overturning on a road near the Herman Polkow farm northeast of Springfield. Koehne with his wife and two children escaped serious injury after being pinned beneath the car, a gasoline fire consuming nearly all. Ed Brand of Sleepy Eye reported as a new caller.

Fall Festival and Live Stock Show Next Week
Springfield set to host a two day fall festival and live stock show Wednesday and Thursday with over 500 dollars in prizes for horses cattle calves hogs poultry corn grain and vegetables and races. Paul Shaughnessy a 19 year old farmer from near Springfield visited New Ulm with rail crew. After drinking grape juice he became loud and reckless drawing a revolver in the local railroad yards. Night Officer John Herzog arrested him. fined $20 and $6.55 costs for carrying a concealed weapon and discharging a firearm in city limits. His foster parents came to post his fine and take him home.

Pioneer Herman Stege Dies by Suicide on 66th Birthday
The body of Herman Stege, Nicollet county pioneer, was found at his Nicollet village home with a rifle wound to the stomach. Family suspects his wife’s illness and his own frail health caused despondency. He died on his 66th birthday, leaving eight children and a grieving widow. Local friends extend sympathy.

Two Injured In Auto Accident Near Cottonwood
Two young women, Miss Martha Hacker and her aunt Miss Anna Hacker, were injured when the Mercer 2070 car left the road near Hugo Sprenger farm while returning from a Cottonwood dance. Martha suffered a brain concussion and arm injuries, Anna internal injuries and contusions. both are hospitalized in New Ulm under care of Mrs. Koop and a trained nurse.
