Farm Accident Brings Near Fatal Wreck and Rescue

Adolph Oscha a farmer from the Herman Albrecht farm in La Fayette Township near the city was involved in a runaway wagon incident Friday evening. His horse team bolted after a move picture show stop, throwing him and causing scalp wounds and rib injuries. He was found unconscious near the mill, treated at a hospital, and left for home after stitches and minor injuries. Apportionment of School Funds in Brown County

County Auditor Vogel received $15,102 from the State Auditor to be allocated among Brown County schools. High schools in New Ulm Springfield Sleepy Eye and Comfrey districts receive specified aids, with rural districts in Class A receiving $135 each, Class B districts $100 each, and Class C districts $68 each.

Boy Shot In Arm In River Accident Near Ninnewoum Bridge

Leander, year old son of Jobo Schneider, was accidentally shot in the left arm while boating on the Ninnewoum River near the middle bridge. The bullet from a .22 rifle passed through above the wrist. he was taken to Dr. Fritche’s for dressing and is recovering. He will miss a week of school. Meanwhile, a college concert under Prof. Reuter is planned for Thanksgiving at Music Hall featuring a 10-number program.

Rendering Works Arrives Near New Ulm for Offal Disposal

J E Richardson opens a new rendering plant in Cottonwood Township near New Ulm to dispose of carcasses from slaughterhouses. The venture will produce mainly fertilizers. Richardson, from Farabauk, is experienced and will reside on site with his family as he builds a home. The report also notes Thanksgiving programs by Union and High School students at local assembly rooms and Washington Building.
