St John Court Welcomes Guests For Big City Event

St John Court and St Anne Court prepare for a large city visit with plans for a grand program Sunday including high mass, a parade, speeches, and a public reception. Delegates and visitors from many towns will arrive by trains and stay for several days with decorations, meals, and performances to mark the convention.

Three Trains of Cattle Shipped to Avarts South Dakota

In a city conversation M Mullen reports a massive shipment of 2857 young steers bought in Midland Texas by Mullen and Chas Stuebe. The cattle will be wintered at Ewarts South Dakota and held for the spring 1907 market. Mallen plans a three to four week ranch stay. Also Gen Davis asserts canal area health is improving with only 3 percent of 10,000 workers sick, denying sensational health fears along the canal route.

Lumberman SustaIns Injuries In Narrow Accident

Alfred J. Vogel lumberman of this city suffered a serious accident on German street last Friday evening. While trimming screens he used a jackknife to cut wooden plugs from a pine board when the blade slipped and cut a deep gash in his left arm severing the main artery and two smaller ones. Doctors Vogel and Strickler stopped the bleeding, saving his life after nearly a quart had been lost. The wound, about one and a half inches long, will require weeks to heal and may affect use of the arm, though he expects full recovery.

Unique class day at University marked by ivy plantings and boat tribute

University seniors observed class day with the ivy ceremony at the library, a river voyage carrying their books, noon basket lunch on the riverbank, and sports at Northrop field before a senior promenade. Hilger Manderfeld, a law school graduate, attended with New Ulm peers. The same week New Ulm Electric Light Co sold a 100 horsepower stationary engine to New Ulm Roller Mill Co to be reconfigured for a right handed engine, with heater and pump shipped to Glenwood Wisconsin for joint use.

4 Paw Circus Excursion to Estherville

On June 8 the Minneapolis and St Louis will run a special excursion to Estherville Tas for the Adam Forepaugh and Sells Bros circus. Special train leaves New Ulm at 7 25 AM round trip rate only. Train arrives Estherville in time to witness the Million Dollar parade. Returning train leaves Estherville at 1 45 PM.
