University Week Opens in New Ulm With Bee Lecture
On Monday June 1 at 2 pm the University Week begins in Turner Hall Park New Ulm with Francis Jager professor of bee culture at the University of Minnesota giving an outdoor lecture and demonstration behind an observatory beehive. Teachers and students are urged to attend to gain educational value. A concert by Mr and Mrs George Ransom follows and Mrs C L Atwood will address on the New Community Spirit. The rest of the week features lectures debates music and public talks by university figures, ending with a preview for next issue.

Taxes Due Before May Day Or Sunday?

Coroner G B Reineke viewed the remains of Christ C Peterson of the Town of Home after he died by his own hand. Dr W J Tolius accompanied him to the Minnesota bottom above Cummings Ferry. Peterson, 53, swallowed arsenic in the morning and died within hours. He leaves a wife and 10 children, amid long rheumatism and financial worries over unpaid taxes. The inquest was deemed unnecessary.

Grand jury ends term with mixed indictments and verdicts
