The fiftieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. H L Ruok was quietly observed at the Milford home of their son Robert with close family. The couple, born in Germany, immigrated to America in 1865 and settled in New Ulm. They raised eleven children and have 38 grandchildren, surviving storms and hardships to reach a serene milestone.

New Ulm Plans Fourth of July Celebration by Citizens Committee

Sisters transfer 250 nuns from Milwaukee to Mankato
The Sisters of Notre Dame will relocate about 250 members from Milwaukee to the new $300,000 mother house in Mankato. The complex includes an administration building dormitory academy and a power house. Upon completion the Milwaukee sisters will join the order’s northern branch serving the United States and Canada with about 4,000 members.
