Fatal accident ends life of Spokane German printer
Louis Bogen, a German well known in Spokane, died Saturday evening at the railroad hospital in Rosalia Washington from injuries after a heavy rock fell on him while working in a tunnel on the Milwaukee road. He was forty eight, native of New Ulm Minnesota, and never married. His burial was in Rosalia cemetery and his survivors are siblings in New Ulm and Naylor Texas. He lived a roaming career as a printer and machinist before years in the west. The notice notes he learned of his death via a newspaper clipping.

Dr L A Fritsche won the county endorsement and broke with state-makers to secure a district delegate seat to the national convention alongside John Wise of Mankato. Wise initially led by two votes after the first caucus ballot as delegates arrived from the country.

Vicious Drake Attacks Child Near Stark
A Sleepy Eye news special reports a large drake attacked three year old Joseph Fischer Jr. near Stark injuring him severely and threatening his eyesight. Mrs. Fischer briefly left him by the house to feed cattle. the drake struck as she returned, leaving the child unconscious until doctors treated him. The injuries are painful and may disfigure him, with uncertain prospects for saving sight.

Catholic Foresters mark 25th anniversary in St. Paul area events

May Term Opens in Brown County Court With Few Trials
Judge Olsen convened the May term of Brown County District Court in New Ulm. Foreman Henry Dohrmann and bailiffs J. G. Schapebahm P. D. Raverty Arnold Gulden were named, with A. J. Alwin as grand jury secretary. Only criminal case listed is State vs Alfred Berkner for selling undrawn poultry, likely not tried this term. Civil calendar sees several cases continued or dismissed. court may last under a week. The Sleepy Eye convention of the Woman's Federated Clubs for the Mankato district is to be held in Sleepy Eye. The Sleepy Eye Telephone Co. elected officers and plans 20 miles of new lines. Mrs. Kunigunde Griebel died at 66, survived by nine children including four in New Ulm.
