Fourth Will Be Quiet In N Y Speed Events Planned At Fair
The Brown County Fair Association scrapped July 4 celebrations in New Ulm to fund the sixtieth anniversary of the Indian Massacre and avoid overburdening business leaders. Plans shifted to a series of speed events at the race track, with auto races likely and dates not fixed. The fairgrounds' cattle barn area gained trees to improve sightlines, while reservations stack for cattle and hog exhibits. Baby Beef entries number 24, and fair dates are August 28–30, with Nicollet County Fair following August 23–26. Big attractions booked include a Statuary Act and the Seven Arabian Tumblers, plus other acts by Frank DeRue and a trio of aerial performers.
