Minneapolis Civic and Commerce Association visit to New Ulm

New Ulm will host at least 100 Minneapolis business leaders on June 3 as part of a trade extension trip. The party travels through 61 towns 750 miles by several rail lines, with New Ulm entertainment arranged by the Commercial Club and a 12 car vestibuled train anticipated.

Tragic Auto Truck Death Near Albin Creamery

John Bezold aged nineteen was killed when his auto truck overturned near the Albin creamery on Thursday April 29 at about 8 30. He lost control, the vehicle pinned him, and despite help from Andrew Schropfer Peter Sweum and Wm Groebner death was caused by concussion of the brain. Funeral services were held at St Marys Church.

Nicollet County Court Opens With Short May Term

Judge J. M. Olsen opened Nicollet County District Court for the May term with a light civil docket of sixteen cases. Two criminal actions from the prior term remain. the grand jury has a few matters. Civil cases include Schneider vs Engesser Brewing Co and multiple guardianship and interpleader actions. The court expects to be in session about a week.

Short Course For Lafayette Farmers Planned

Through farmer's club cooperation Lafayette plans a 45 day Farmers Short Course next winter. Applicants must sign petitions. at least 75 men and 50 women are needed. Extension Division funds instruction. local hosts provide Anderson hall for five days. The course replaces former one day Institutes with improved classes and livestock judging highlighted.

Burglary at Gibbon Targets W Fried Sons Store

Robbers broke into the W Fried & Sons store in Gibbon last Wednesday night, stealing silks, jewelry, cutlery, and small articles. They left about 86 in change and $50 in cash. the cash in the safe remained, but the safe was accidentally locked by the burglars. Loss estimated at 250 to 300 dollars with no clues yet for arrest.

Money for Health Work in Mankato

City Council of Mankato appropriated 126 to keep the state bacteriological laboratory in operation for three months with Blue Earth County to match. No further state funding was available for this period, so the lab would stay open to examine contagious diseases. Rev. C. J. Albrecht visited his son Gustev and family in St. Peter yesterday.

Berg Libel Suits Face Plea In Abatement

County Treasurer Henry J. Berg seeks to inspect the books accounts and mailing list of Brown Co-Operative Publishing Co in a libel case. Defendants argue suits are premature and may be dismissed if the related Berg v Buehrer action remains undecided. The court will rule at the May Brown County term.

John C Schwartz of St. Paul left a bequest totaling 2000 dollars to Dr. Martin Luther College and other Lutheran institutions. The will also names Bethany Ladies College Mankato 1000 dollars Home for Orphans and Aged Belle Plaine 500 dollars and St Johns German Evangelical Church St Paul 500 dollars. The estate comprises 31000 dollars in personal property and 9000 dollars in real estate.

April Weather Sets Records for Sunshine and Gloom

April recorded nine sunny days and twelve overcast days with two 84 degree highs and a 25 degree low on the 1st. Slayton in Murry County contracts for a White Way at 2290 dollars with thirty posts and equipment to be installed in two months. City Plans Driveways Parks to Beautify New Ulm
