City candidates scarce as filing deadline nears
Prospective contenders for city offices show little interest ahead of the March 25 petition deadline. Only one ward contest exists between Nagel and Behnke for alderman in the First Ward, while incumbents like Mayor Fritsche, City Treasurer Oswald, and City Clerk Backer appear unopposed. Several judges of the peace also seem set for re-election with few challengers in other wards.
