Schools to Enter Contest for Corn Growing Promotion

County Superintendent Julie Curing urges country schools to join a State Agricultural College seed growing contest. Teachers distribute Bulletin No 2 with rules. The aim is higher corn yields and better farming, using six varieties. districts may arrange displays and student essays compete for prizes at a campfire event in Minneapolis.

State Encampment Ordered for March 21 22

Department Commander F Mc Donald issues order for state encampment at Minne apoli to be held March 21 and 22 at McKinley hall corner of Western avenue and Ninth street. First meeting starts at ten o clock Fr St Wright appointed officer of the day and Tr Green officer of the guard. Dora Corbin named color bearer with G BG Boytell and Asa Dailey as color-guard. Department headquarters in the new Capitol will close during the encampment and reopen at the convention hall.

Redwood Falls Firm Wins Big Stone Contracts

New Ulm Stone company plans a strong year with crushed rock for macadam on Maria avenue in St Paul and concrete blocks for a large Redwood Falls Christian church. Architect A Terryberry of Duluth will oversee a fifty by eighty foot building built with on-site blocks. Rev E C Niegelson said the project will be among the area’s finest. Twelve car loads of crushed rock will finish the church, and remaining shipments for street grading were tentatively arranged with Sleepy Bye noted as a local interest. The trade outlook is flattering and promoters expect a busy season with $25 as working capital while no football games will be scheduled this year and school board actions face mixed reactions.

Man Held on Suspected Insurance Death Fraud
