Pioneer Nursery shines in New Ulm growth and spring plans
New Ulm hosts Pioneer Nursery a growing industry led by Wm. Pfaender Jr. The business propagates hardy fruit trees shrubs and ornamentals for Minnesota and surrounding states. They plan 32 000 apple grafts this season and will add 100 000 stock this year. The firm employs many year round with 12 to 15 workers in spring and several youths in summer. A homecoming celebration is slated for August 19 25 with a press committee and postal card initiative to raise revenue.

Pretty Weddings Highlight Vogelpohl Denman and Brudelle Bonds
In Mankato Alma Vogelpohl wed Dr. Austin V. Denman of Sutherland Oregon with Rev A F Winter officiating. A grand reception followed and guests included Louise Vogelpohl Meta and Anna Vogelpohl. The couple plan an extended trip and will reside in Sutherland after April first. A second ceremony united Nina Ouren and George Brudelle at Hanska with a reception for nearly three hundred guests. The Brudelles now reside on a farm near Hanska.

W C Burleigh of Western Adjustment and Inspection Co Minneapolis arrived Friday to settle Eagle Mill fire losses. Proofs of loss total $226.52 for stock and building and $25.74 for use and occupancy. Total claim $292.98, far below expectations, paid promptly by the Insurance Company.

Symphony Concert Pleases Crowd and Encores
The afternoon concert drew a fair crowd with a crowded house for the evening performance. A special train from Banska carried over 120 people and others from within fifty miles attended. Richard Czerwonky’s violin solo earned an encore after applause for conductor Oberhhoffer. The program featured a Haunted Forest to Forest Spirits sequence, plus Die Lorelei and Lohengrin. Afterward, Club Rooms opened and Ladies Society served loch as out of town visitors awaited trains. Musicians left the next morning by a special train to Faribault, with no cash guaranty required from New Ulm for the orchestra.

Injured Man Receives Settlement After Guilty Plea

Tracy School House Burned In Tracy Neighborhood
A two story frame school building valued at 16000 was destroyed by fire last Thursday afternoon. The blaze originated from a defective furnace around two o'clock and an hour later the structure lay in ruins. Students were safely evacuated and books saved despite low water pressure and inadequate supply. The old building had been replaced by a brick structure and was insured for 8000. G A Ottomeyer conducted business in the Twin Cities several days weekly and hired Mrs Griswold to manage alterations in the Ladies Suit and Coat Department arriving Monday afternoon.
