New Ulm Secures Shirt Factory in Park School House
Johnson & Co of St. Peter will establish a shirt and overall factory in New Ulm by June 16. The city will lease the Park School House for five years with six- to ten-year extension options, remodel it for thirty machines, employ thirty local workers, and pay 500 if Johnson & Co abandons the project early. The operation includes free training for thirty trainee workers and wages from 75 cents to two dollars daily.

New Ulm Conservatory Contract Awarded for Music Building
The New Ulm area building committee of Dr. Martin Luther College met in Mankato to award the construction contract for a new conservatory on the college campus. Otto Tappe of New Ulm won with a bid of 10,934, over four other bids. The building will include two instructional rooms, six practice rooms, a large auditorium with stage and pipe organ, and a heating plant system to be advertised for bid later.
