The Benson Automobile Club tour ended in New Ulm with 49 cars and 190 people, ideal weather, a band concert at Turner Hall, and open hospitality. VIPs from Benson, Sleepy Eye, and nearby towns joined locals for a 108.9 mile route via Willmar Olivia Franklin and Fort Ridgely, with dinners, hotels, and a warm welcome from New Ulm residents.

Insane Murderer Escapes From St Peter State Hospital
Bjorn Ostby aged about 20 escapes from the criminal ward at the State Hospital for the Insane in St Peter by lowering himself from a second story window using sheet strips. He wore a blue suit, brown felt hat, and a white shirt marked B Ostby. Three accomplices were deterred by attendant Ecklund during the escape plan amid dense woods and ravines. Police seek Ostby as authorities question how such a security breach occurred at the recently built institution and vow to recapture him.

Public Dumping Grounds Keeper Convicted
Gustav Schroeder, keeper of the public dumping grounds, was tried last Monday in Justice Henningeen's Court and charged with unlawfully discharging firearms within city limits. Henry Moll Jr. testified. Schroeder admitted guilt, was fined 810.00 and 64.95 costs paid. Reports say he has used a revolver threateningly and his son has a rifle, raising safety concerns about his police-like powers and urging a thorough investigation into his fitness to carry any weapon.
