The Brown County Democratic gathering opened with Fred W. Johnson presiding. Delegates from New Ulm Sleepy Eye Springfield Cobden Mulligan and other areas elected temporary officers and adopted credentials. Company A and Band Return Home From Camp
The 2nd Regiment Band and Company A returned last Saturday from Lakeview encampment in Lake City Minnesota. Over seventy musicians surprised the town at the depot with a welcome parade and music by the home unit. Merchants lit the square with red flares as the bands were escorted to quarters, a royal homecoming unmatched by any other regiment unit.
