Brown County Tax Levy Drops To 185000

Soldiers' Bodies Laid To Rest In World War I Tribute
The community honored two local World War I soldiers Arthur J Schnobrich and Evan Evans with full military rites. Arthur died in France 1918 of pneumonia and was buried in Sleepy Eye after service in New Ulm with a firing squad. Evan, 18, was killed in the Meuse-Argonne offensive, later honored by the local American Legion chapters.

Windstorms Cause Electric Damage Across Town
Heavy windstorms struck the area Wednesday evening and Saturday afternoon. Wires and trees were damaged. two light poles near the Courtland bridge were blown down requiring a temporary plant shutdown. Superintendent Herbert Huevelmann and crew repaired the outages quickly.
