Turner Hall announces New Ulm Turnverein programs with multiple age grouped gymnastic schedules. Penning Stockstead wed at home in Home town

Miss Emma Penning youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Martin Penning married Andrew Stockstead at the Penning home in Home. Rev Alig F Zich officiated in a parlor ceremony beneath flower arch with bridesmaid Miss Ochs and groom’s escort A P Brooks. A long reception followed with dinner and a night of dancing despite rain. Stockstead, a Sleepy Eye native, will take charge of the Penning farm and has built a solid business career.

De Molay Commandery Installs Officers After Inception

De Molay Commandery No 26 Knights Templars was instituted Saturday evening by Right Eminent Grand Commander J W Chamberlin with J C Bryant and H P Swanstrom assisting. Sudden Death of John E Bullert at Anton Bartel’s Place

John E Bullert, about 32 and single, collapsed after dinner at Anton Bartel’s Sunday night and died of heart paralysis. Dr Fritsche and Dr Schoch attended but could not help. His body lay at Buenger’s until his brother arrived Monday, and he was buried in Arlington from his parents’ home. He worked at Eagle Roller mill.

New Ulm Fourth of July Parade and Baseball doubleheader

The Fourth of July program for New Ulm features two big baseball games by Albert Lea and Waseca on the fairgrounds, a grand parade forming at 9:45 a.m. with multiple divisions and floats, and a fireworks display. District volunteers and visiting bands will join, parade moves at 10 a.m. sharp along Center and Broadway to German Park. Works of art at Schwendinger residence in New Ulm

The Schwendinger residence on State street houses a premier art collection including paintings by the family and other artists up to 400 years old. Climate and Crop Bulletin for Week Ending July 1 1901

Weather area wide brought heavy rains and destructive winds from Chippewa county eastward into Wisconsin with hail damaging crops in Renville and Stearns counties. Heat remained above 90 degrees in southern areas daily except the 29th, near 100 on the 24th 26th and 27th. Vegetation grew rapidly though some barley oats wheat rye flax and potatoes show varied conditions. corn improves though some fields are small or greasy. grass hay cut but some spoiled by rain. frost earlier affected flax and grasshoppers injure it in northern counties.
