His mother Mrs Anna Lang is the only immediate relative. Lang family misfortunes included a father's death by railroad accident about fifteen years ago, followed by the death of a son, a daughter, another son, and a mysterious disappearance of a fourth son. Mrs Mary Lipp died suddenly at Cottonwood. she was nearly 70, beloved for kindness, and survived by a husband and one son, a veterinary surgeon.
