The Retail Merchants Protective Association of Dunkirk New York resolved to refrain from patronizing fake advertising schemes. Merchants recounted losses from hotel registers racing programmes and other media, noting little or no return while newspaper ads in home papers reach all families.
An editorial urges immediate beautification of city suburbs by banning unsightly waste. It condemns extremes of elegance and ugliness, calls for tighter waste surveillance, better refuse handling, and widespread use of fire to reduce trash.
