Not Until the Spring Extension to Hatherville Delayed

City Council Seeks State Loan After Bank Declines Bonds

At a regular meeting city attorney Eckstein reported the Western German Bank of Cincinnati declined the $20,000 defunding bonds for purely technical reasons. The council rescinded prior resolutions and will borrow from the state permanent school and university fund at the same rate of interest, with a possible refund in two years. The bank’s $790 premium is not a true loss, and bonds may be payable at twenty years or earlier at the option of the city. The meeting also considered land donation for a New John Boot & Shoe factory site, offering lots for sale at public auction if necessary. Additional routine items included audit bills totaling $449.93 and a briefing on railroad and mileage developments in the region.
