Prisoner Pleads Guilty in Redwood Falls Case
Henry Gerschen pleaded guilty before Judge Olsen to passing a worthless $30 check in Redwood Falls in November 1914. He was sentenced to up to one year at Stillwater State Prison, transferred there after the special chambers session. Gerschen, a traveling salesman from Bingh ampton New York, admitted the offense and had previously passed other bad checks.

New Ulm opens fourth meat market on North Minnesota Street
Thursday morning a new meat market began business in New Ulm at North Minnesota Street in the building formerly used by Charles Rusch. Thos McCarthy and Emil Witt operate as McCarthy & Witt after McCarthy bought the property from the State Bank. The remodel includes a large refrigerator and modern equipment costing about 4000 dollars. Plans call for a slaughterhouse in spring to connect to the city sewer system.
