The Minneapolis Times exposes Henry Francis Allan as a smooth promoter and con man sought by police in several cities. Lind Addresses Silver Men of Minnesota at Lincoln Banquet

At St Paul on Friday the Silver Men of the state honored Abraham Lincoln with a banquet. Mr. Lind delivered a lengthy financial address praising monetary policy, credit, and national progress from 1830 to 1870, urging continued support for the state and country. Other speakers included Donnelly Day O'Brien Owen Howard and Judge Willis. Additional anecdotes and remarks filled the evening with light satire and literary quips from famed writers and figures.
