Not Guilty in Arson Case Stuns New Ulm Court

Judge Webber directed the jury to acquit all defendants in the arson trials stemming from the Hanft house fire. State evidence was weak and largely circumstantial against Irving, while Corey and the Davis boys were not implicated. The crowd-filled courtroom reflected strong local interest as Webber rejects political scramble for judgeship.
