The city council met Tuesday with all members present except Manderfeld and President Wiessner presiding. Fire Chief Henry Engel urged a better fire alarm system, referred to the matter to the department committee for investigation. Parks committee reported sale of lots in Park pavilion, report accepted and filed. A resolution was offered and public meetings to be held in Sleepy Eye Springfield St Peter and other towns to build support for the movement.

Public auction sale of city lots and council actions
The city council resolved to sell three lots at public auction on January 30 1900 at 10 00 am at the corner of German street. The New Ulm Boot and Shoe Co. purchased the lots for 400 in cash. The council received reports from the city attorney police fire and street departments and considered boiler bids for the pumping station. County officials collected taxes in Sleepy Eye and Springfield totaling about 9000 in each location.
