New Ulm Man Killed In Runaway Attack Chronicle

A New Ulm man, William Herrian, died after a runaway incident in Spokane. Remains will be buried in New Ulm Tuesday noon. Herrian, born February 15, 1875, held several local positions and is survived by a wife Mary Schneider, a daughter, and four brothers Henry, Peter, Alex, and another in Minneapolis. Funeral from Turner Hall Wednesday afternoon. The Spokane report claims Herrian was dragged under a wagon after becoming entangled in its harness during an attempt to step clear, suffering severe injuries. An unrelated note mentions ancient Chinese anesthetics used in operations.

County Option Bill Defeated In State House Vote

Split Over Violation of Liquor Ordinance in Redwood Falls

Redwood Falls city sues Verne Baldwin for running a blind pig, found guilty at municipal court with a $75 fine. Case appealed to higher court likely destined for the supreme court. Jury had divided in the trial, while another related verdict showed Baldwin winning in a separate proceeding as charges of blind pigging produced an 18 to 2 vote in favor of the defendant. The case was set for next Monday afternoon for further action.
